Cancellation/Card Information
We ask you to confirm your appointment with a 50% deposit of booked services. We believe that your time is important & we always want to be respectful of that. This non-refundable retainer is to recoup the cost of appointments that are cancelled with late/no notice. If you are not comfortable with paying a deposit we wish to be respectful of this, so please do not hesitate to call and walk in.Â
We require six hours notice to cancel any appointments or make alterations. Failure to contact us prior to an appointment in which deposits are equal to or less than $20 value will be considered a no-show, and will be charged the remaining service cost. Failure to make any contact on clients behalf, after 2 unsuccessful attempts on our end to make contact, will likewise result in the remaining services total being charged to the card on file. For larger appointment type, any missed services will result in a void deposit. Appointments that are cancelled/rescheduled outside of the 6 hour window will have deposits credited to your account. At such time as you wish to reschedule and have a deposit credit, please directly contact us to avoid being charged duplicate deposits. We understand that life happens and sometimes things come up last minute. However, we do not make exceptions for our cancelation policy as we believe both our time and our clients time is valuable.
We completely understand any reservations you may have with paying a deposit for services. In this event we will either take a physical payment deposit at least 24 hours before your appointment time. Or we encourage you to call/walk in as we always do our best to accommodate everyone possible!Â
For our first time clients we offer a complimentary service. If you are seeking to book this service, please ensure that you select the service you desire to redeem that is marked first time client.Â
First time waxing (Or returning to waxing)
Before your appointment we suggest taking an Advil 20-40 minutes before your appointment time
Have a warm shower to ensure skin is clean
Apply numbing cream 45mins to an hour before your appointment time
Drink plenty of water and limit your coffee intake
Wear loose comfortable clothing
For facial waxing ensure the skin is clean of any and all makeup
After your appointment wear loose, cotton clothing for 48 hours
Avoid direct heat (hot showers, tanning beds, saunas, etc)
Keep waxed area clean with antibacterial soap and apply an unscented lotion 24 hours after getting waxed
Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after facial waxing
Wait 24-48 hours before working out to avoid sweating and friction against the skin that results in break outs post waxing
Don’t shave in between appointments!
Anyone who currently, or has used accutane in the last six months
Anyone with an active herpes outbreak
Anyone with sunburn on the to be waxed areas
Anyone who has had a chemical peel within the last 10-12 days
Anyone who has used Retinol within the last week
Any area of the skin showing signs of trauma, varicose veins, open or active lesions, eczema, psoriasis or other types of dermatitis.
If you haven’t waxed for a while, or if you have more than 2-3 months of growth in your bikini area than we advise you trim at home before coming in. To trim the hair carefully use scissors and lightly trim the desired waxing areas leaving at least half an inch (or a long grain of rice) of hair to ensure that the wax can properly adhere to hair for removal.
The ideal hair length for waxing is half an inch, or a long grain of rice
Depending on the area of the body typically in 4-6 weeks hair growth is long enough to be removed
Hard wax also known as strip less waxing, is when the wax is applied then removed after taking a moment to harden, great for coarse hair, extremely sensitive skin (tendency to bleed/bruise), if previously shaved
Soft wax also known as strip waxing is when wax is applied and taken off with a cloth strip. Soft wax is best for thinner hair or those who regularly wax, and it is more efficient
While this does depend on how quick your hair growth rate is, typically 2 weeks time you start noticing stubble & 4-5 weeks for full growth
All things Brazilians
Brazilian wax removes everything (landing strip can be left to individuals preference) including between the cheeks.
Deep Bikini is a high bikini wax, getting close to the lip area with individuals choice to take as much off the top as preferred. This does not include between the cheeks or labia.
Bikini wax removes the hair 4-5 inch from the inner thigh and an inch off the top. This does not include the lips or between the cheeks
It can range from 15-20 minutes. This varies whether it is your first time waxing or is you are a more consistent waxer. This also depends on the type of wax in which your Esthetician will use her discretion.Â
Yes you can wax while on your period or during pregnancy. If you are on your period then we ask that you please wear a tampon or diva cup during your service. Please also be aware that both periods and pregnancy makes the skin more sensitive, meaning that waxing one week prior & sometimes during this time may be more painful.
We recommend at least 6-8 weeks pospartum but ALWAYS follow your physicians recommendationsÂ
Right up to your due date! Unless recommended not to by your physician and/or esthetician.
Typically it is better to choose the wax you used before pregnancy. However, pregnancy can make your skin more sensitive and therefore may make the waxing process more tender. Therefore you may want to try hard wax during your pregnancy as it recommended for those with skin sensitivityÂ

Both are good for 8 months (does not roll over or transfer to other months)

Threading & Tinting
Threading a is a hair removal technique that utilizes cotton thread to pluck a row of hair from the follicle very similarly to tweezing. Threading is a great alternative for those with sensitive skin, those who are prone to reactions from waxing, and those using facial products that leaves you at a higher risk for skin lifting when waxing.
Eyebrow and eyelash tinting are both offered here at Bareskin Wax Bar. The process involves applying a semipermanent dye to the lashes or brows to dye them a darker shade. (Please note this is not a process that lightens or bleaches the hairs) After the tinting process is finished (typically takes 20 minutes) your eyelashes will typically look as if you have a natural mascara on, and your eyebrows will look freshly filled in.
The few days before your tinting appointment we recommend keeping eyes and eyebrows clean of any makeup
Day of your appointment refrain from wearing contact lenses
Ensure lashes or/and brows are clean and free of any products
If you wear contacts refrain from wearing them for 48 hours after your tinting services
Do not apply makeup overtop of your lashes or brows
Be mindful of how often you touch or rub the areas, as the oils from our fingers can make the results fade quicker
Avoid using cleansers, exfoliants, moisturizers on or around the area
Results typically last anywhere from 2-4 weeks
Many factors can lead to results fading quicker, such as using heavy creams/oils/serums around the treated area. Using harsh or overly frequent cleansers, rubbing the area, applying makeup or makeup remover
General
It is more effective than shaving for temporary hair removal as it removes the hair from the root not just from the surface. Consistency is key, with time hair regrowth will be finer & slower
Currently at this time we do not have sugaring services available but stay tuned…
We can and do wax over tattoo’s, however, with new pieces of work than we advise differing to your artist concerning when they think it is safe to wax over. While we typically say 6 weeks, or long enough that the healing process has completed the scabbing phase, we follow tattoo artists recommendations first.
We recommend getting your waxing done 48 hours before planned events to ensure that you have the freshly waxed smooth look and feel. Giving yourself a least 48 hours ensures that any redness that occurs from waxing has calmed down so you aren’t showing up to your event with hairless but irritated skin.
Yes we offer a variety of services for men, including both waxing and threading. We do not offer male Brazilian waxing.
